About the Student of Success Scholarship

State of Success, Inc. proudly presents the Student of Success Scholarship! This scholarship represents a positive investment in the next generation. The Student of Success Scholarship services three regions: S.O.S. Central (Union County), S.O.S. East (Wilson County), and S.O.S. West (Mecklenburg County). Our youth are our future. It is up to us to provide them with the opportunities needed to achieve their goals. To date, State of Success, Inc. has awarded over $20,000.00 in scholarships through its Student of Success Scholarship initiative!

Student of Success Scholarship

State of Success, Inc. is dedicated to empowering and educating the next generation of leaders through the Student of Success Scholarship, a program designed to recognize and support exceptional students who demonstrate the drive and qualities needed to achieve success. This scholarship is available to standout students in Union County, Wilson County, and Mecklenburg County, highlighting their achievements and potential as tomorrow’s leaders. In Union County, the scholarship celebrates two students who exemplify excellence and a commitment to personal growth. In Wilson County, in collaboration with Dr. Portia Newman, the program continues to uplift and inspire two outstanding students from the region. In Mecklenburg County, the scholarship further expands its reach, emphasizing our commitment to investing in youth across diverse communities. Applications are currently closed.

The Rising Redhawk Award

About: The Rising Redhawk Award is a prestigious part of the Student of Success Scholarship. It is a $1000.00 scholarship awarded annually to a Monroe High School senior who demonstrates outstanding dedication to service and steadfast commitment to giving back to their community.

Like the Student of Success Scholarship, The Rising Redhawk Award is funded by donations from the community, and awarded to students in the community to help them achieve their goals. To date, State of Success, Inc. has awarded over $3,000.00 in scholarship funds to MHS seniors who were selected as Rising Redhawk Award recipients.

Dedication: The Rising Redhawk Award is a special award. It is dedicated to the memory of past Monroe High School students who have passed away, but will never be forgotten. Their memory lives on through this scholarship.

Jere’l Hough, Executive Director and Founder of State of Success, is a graduate of Monroe High School. The Rising Redhawk Award represents a commitment to giving back to Monroe High School, to investing in the success of Monroe High school students, and to keeping the legacy of past Redhawks, who once walked the halls of Monroe High School, alive.
